About the Job
Responsibilities:
  • Serve beverages and meals to residents seated at tables in the dining room, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Clean floors, empty trash cans, stock food supplies, wash and sanitize dishes, and maintain overall cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Perform general cleaning duties in the dietary department, including cleaning vents, ovens, vent hoods over ovens, and the outside garbage area.
  • Organize stock and assist in making deliveries as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
  • Uphold food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and healthcare staff to accommodate individual dietary requirements.
  • Adhere to facility policies and procedures regarding resident care and confidentiality.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their needs and preferences during meal times.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of meals.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred.
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and ability to follow specific guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with residents and staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move dining supplies.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with elderly residents.
