About the Job
Responsibilities:
Serve beverages and meals to residents seated at tables in the dining room, ensuring excellent customer service.
Clean floors, empty trash cans, stock food supplies, wash and sanitize dishes, and maintain overall cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
Perform general cleaning duties in the dietary department, including cleaning vents, ovens, vent hoods over ovens, and the outside garbage area.
Organize stock and assist in making deliveries as necessary.
Assist in maintaining inventory levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
Uphold food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.
Collaborate with kitchen and healthcare staff to accommodate individual dietary requirements.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures regarding resident care and confidentiality.
Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their needs and preferences during meal times.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of meals.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred.
Understanding of dietary restrictions and ability to follow specific guidelines.
Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with residents and staff.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move dining supplies.
Compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with elderly residents.
